Mount Vernon is proud to have seven parks, each with its own unique
qualities and amenities, as well as a variety of recreational activities to
choose from.

Spirit of '76 Park - Swimming Pool
The swimming pool at the Spirit of '76 Park will open Saturday, May 29, 2023, Memorial Day.
Pool hours are as follows:
Summer Recreation Program
The Summer Recreation Program begins on Monday June 26, 2023 and ends Thursday, July 20, 2023.
Park program hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday thru Thursday.
NO PARK PROGRAM ON FRIDAY'S!
Cost is $25.00 per child and applications may be picked up at the swimming pool or you may sign your child(ren) up through the following link: Park Program Registration
Any child that has COMPLETED kindergarten through fifth (5th) grade is welcome to participate.

Sports
Mt. Vernon has a thriving sports program. The Mt. Vernon School System offers football, basketball, tennis, golf, and track during the school year. The Mt. Vernon sports program has a very loyal following in the citizens of Mt. Vernon, which can be evidenced by the attendance at the sports events throughout the year.
Mighty Mite Football is offered to kids from third to sixth grade during the fall of each year at the Mountaineer Stadium.

Soccer is also played in the spring and fall and is available for kids from 3 to 15 years of age.
Leagues play on Saturdays at the Spirit of '76 Park.

Sunday – Thursday 1 pm – 6 pm
Friday 1 pm – 9 pm
Adult Swim (Monday – Thursday) 6 pm – 7 pm
