City Wards
For City and corporate purposes, the City of Mount Vernon, Missouri, shall be and is hereby divided into four (4) wards to be designated and known as Ward Number One, Ward Number Two, Ward Number Three and Ward Number Four. Click on your Ward to find your Representative and the designation of the Ward.
Wards
Designation of Ward One
Ward Number One shall be composed of all that portions of the corporate limits of the City of Mount Vernon, Missouri, lying and situated north and west of a line described as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point on the centerline of Business Loop I-44 where the same intersects the west boundary lines of the City of Mount Vernon, Missouri; thence in an easterly direction along the centerline of said Business Loop I-44 to the intersection of the centerline of Spring Park Boulevard (otherwise known as Missouri Highway No. 39); thence in a northerly direction along said centerline of said Spring Park Boulevard to the intersection of Cherry Street; thence in an easterly direction along the centerline of said Cherry Street to the intersection of the centerline of McCanse Street; thence in a northerly direction along said centerline of McCanse Street, and a continuation thereof, to the north boundary line of the City of Mount Vernon, Missouri.

Dallas Gramm
Email: dgrammmtvernon1@gmail.comBiography: Dallas was raised on a farm in western Kansas where the family raised buffalo. After graduation he joined the Army for 3 years. Honorably Discharged from the Army, he worked mostly in the oil and gas industry. Dallas spent a few years in Arizona and returned home to work again in the oil and gas industry. He currently works for Phillips 66 Pipeline and has been with them for 18 years. He has been married to his wife, Marie, for 21 years. They have lived in Mt. Vernon for 15 years and are members of First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
Dallas was elected as Ward I Alderman in April 2022 for a two-year term. Dallas serves on the Planning & Zoning Commission, as well as, the Public Works and Personnel Committees.
Scott Beckley
Email: sbeckleymtvernon1@gmail.comBiography: Scott and his wife, Caroline, have been residents of Mount Vernon since 2013. They previously lived in Dade and Cedar counties. Scott's background is in Industrial Maintenance and OSHA Certified Safety. Scott and Caroline have 5 children and 15 grandchildren!
Scott was elected as Ward I Alderman in April of 2019 for a two-year term. Scott serves on the Public Works, Airport, and Personnel Committees.
Designation of Ward Two
Ward Number Two shall be composed of all that portion of the corporate limits of the City of Mount Vernon, Missouri, lying and situated south of Ward Number One and west of a line described as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point on the intersection of the centerline of Cherry Street and Main Street, south to Sloan Street, east to Hickory; thence south along the centerline of said Hickory Street, and a continuation thereof, to the south boundary line of the City of Mount Vernon, Missouri.

Sue Lee

Biography: Sue Lee has lived in Mount Vernon since December 1998. She worked for Harcros Chemicals in Memphis, TN and Little Rock, AR in customer service and as operations manager respectively. She also worked as secretary for First Christian Church in Mount Vernon from 2000 to 2005. In 2006, she became a Deputy to the Recorder of Deeds in Lawrence County. She has served on the City of Mount Vernon Planning & Zoning Commission as secretary, and is currently secretary for the Mount Vernon Regional Arts Council. She is proud to serve the citizens of Mount Vernon as Alderwomen for Ward II.
Sue was appointed to Ward II in April 2013 for a one year term. Sue serves on the Finance and MARC Committees.
Sherie Thrasher
Email: sthrashermtvernon2@gmail.comBiography: Sherie moved to the Mount Vernon area in 2003. She worked for Appelquist Law Office as a legal assistant until 2021. She is happy to serve as Alderwomen for Ward II.
Sherie was elected to Ward II in April 2017 for a two-year term. Sherie serves on the Finance and MARC Committees.
Designation of Ward Three
Ward Number Three shall be composed of all that portion of the corporate limits of the City of Mount Vernon, Missouri, lying and situated east of Ward Number Two and south of a line described as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point on the intersection of the centerline of Cherry Street and the centerline of Main Street; thence in an easterly direction along said centerline of Cherry Street to a point intersecting with the south right-of-way line of Kings Street property; thence in an easterly direction along said south right-of-way line, and a continuation thereof, to the east boundary line of the City of Mount Vernon, Missouri.

Biography: Steve and his wife Kathy have 2 children, Ginia, and her husband, Matt Oehlschlager, and Brett, and his wife Kenzie Fairchild, and 4 grandchildren. Steve and Kathy owned and operated the local newspaper until December 31, 2012 and since then I have worked with the local funeral home.
Steve was elected to Ward III in April 2018 for a two-year term. Steve serves on the Finance and Personnel Committees.
Logan Phillips

Biography: Logan Phillips was born and raised in Mount Vernon and a 2016 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. Logan and his wife Melissa moved inside the city of Mount Vernon in 2019. Logan is employed with Ozark Electric Cooperative, a firefighter with the Mount Vernon Fire Protection District, and a football official with the Joplin Football Officials Association.
Logan was elected to Ward III in April of 2023 for a two-year term. Logan serves on the Parks & Recreation and MARC Committees.
Designation of Ward Four
Ward Number Four shall be composed of all that portion of the corporate limits of the City of Mount Vernon, Missouri, not included in the aforesaid limits of Ward Number One, Ward Number Two and Ward Number Three. (Ord. No. 1.112 2-6, 10-13-81)

Lowell Phillips

Biography: Lowell was raised in Mt. Vernon until the age of 14 when his dad was transferred with his job at Ozark Electric. Soon after graduating from Nixa High School in 1990, Lowell moved back to Mt. Vernon where he has lived since. He is employed with EFCO Corp, A Pella Company and has been there for the past 19 years. Lowell is a member of the Mt. Vernon Fire Protection District. He and his wife Jane have 2 sons, Dakota, and Ryan.
Lowell was elected to Ward IV in April 2010 for a two-year term. Lowell serves on the Public Works, Parks & Recreation, and Airport Committees.
